A reminder that this Friday, that is, Friday, February 3rd, at 12:00pm, I will present a Zoom talk entitled “Bioethics De-Mystified: Disaster Ableism and the Utility of Epistemologies of Crisis” to the Department of Philosophy at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).
The talk is part of the Webinaire Justice Épistémique // Epistemic JusticeWebinar, an online lecture series that Amandine Catala, Canada Research Chair in Epistemic Justice and Agency, has organized.
I will present some of my work on the apparatus of disability, bioethics, MAiD, and neoliberalism, as well as introduce some new work from “Disabling Bioethics: An Abolitionist Genealogy,” my contribution to Genealogy: A Genealogy, which is edited by Verena Erlenbusch-Anderson and Daniele Lorenzini and forthcoming from Columbia University Press.
